More importantly It is really bad to lose images which can not be replaced. However if you then find out the files you thought were backed up are not there, it is a waste of money. Both are much lower priced much lower than the other pay by gig storage companies when storing 2 T of images. From the reviews on line both companies have a lot of negative comments. You can do this from other locations so you can get a file when using another computer. ![]() Carbonite if I remember correctly you log into their server and see the files. You do not know what they actually have in storage only what they should have. When the screen pops up and says all files are all backed up you can't be sure. Even with the times in question were checked to be backed up they said it never received them. In the logs they do not see where the files were ever in their storage. I never needed to restore until recently and found they do not have 3 months of CR2 (1100 images) and 100 of so DNGs from the same time period. ![]() I used Carbonite until 3 years ago when I switched to CrashPlan.
